Between Drive and Arrival: A Portrait of Schorsch Brüderl

When evening falls and calm settles over Lake Chiemsee, Schorsch Brüderl is often out on the water. On his boat, the “Cambio Vita,” he finds what he rarely manages to achieve in his everyday life as an entrepreneur: a moment to catch his breath. For him, this is more than just leisure—it’s a conscious shift in perspective.

Brüderl is a man of tremendous drive. No sooner has he achieved one goal than he’s already thinking about the next steps. This restlessness propels his company forward, but it also demands balance. He finds that balance on the water—and even there, he remains true to his nature: He went to great lengths to convert his boat from diesel to electric propulsion.

His journey began early. After his father’s death, he took on responsibility for his family and the business as a teenager. He completed a carpentry apprenticeship, earned his high school diploma, and studied architecture—all while working at the company. Step by step, he transformed the small carpentry shop into a versatile manufacturing facility.

A turning point came in 2005 with the outfitting of the corporate boxes at the Allianz Arena—a major project carried out under enormous time pressure that elevated the company to a new level. Today, Brüderl carries out international projects and consciously thinks on a larger scale.

He is supported in this by his two sons, who are now co-partners and managing directors. Together, they prioritize open communication, clear decision-making, and the strength that comes from diverse perspectives.

At 67, Brüderl has no plans to retire. He is handing over responsibility but remains full of ideas. His drive is undiminished—as is his ability to pause and think of new approaches time and again.
